Burst pipe floods road and disrupts water supply to HDB blocks in Serangoon, water wagons deployed
Water supply to several Housing Board blocks in Serangoon was disrupted due to a pipe leak in the early morning of Sept 1.
Stomper Ashok shared a video of flooding caused by the leak at Tessensohn Road and a man wading through the water. Another video shows water gushing from the ground and the resulting road damage.
"Both lanes were closed. The water supply was cut at Rangoon Road and Pek Kio. Residents were left with no water," said the Stomper.
In a Facebook post at 12.24pm, national water agency PUB said it was alerted to the pipe leak near 65 Tessensohn Road towards Rangoon Road at 4.30am and a service crew was dispatched immediately to isolate the leak.
PUB deployed water wagons at 47 Owen Road, 49 Dorset Road and 9 Gloucester Road to provide temporary water supply for residents.
The agency added that water supply to the affected blocks was restored at 9.15am and pipe repairs are ongoing.

Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Alvin Tan posted on Facebook at 9.47am that the water supply had resumed.
He said in a video that earlier in the morning, a pipe had burst at Tessensohn Road.
"That's why PUB very, very quickly deployed water trucks for our residents to use. We've also worked with our town council to turn on the reserve water tank so that residents will have uninterrupted water supply," added the MP.

PUB said: "The leak caused some damage to Tessensohn Road and we are working with the Land Transport Authority to assess the road’s condition."
"For motorists’ safety, Tessensohn Road in both directions (Rangoon Road and Balestier Road) is currently closed to traffic. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will provide an update when the road is reopened."
The cause of the leak is being investigated.
