Why was there a pedestrian on the expressway?

Two men were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a pedestrian and a motorcycle on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) on the evening of Aug 1.

Stomper P shared a video of the accident's aftermath taken from a passing bus near the Punggol Road exit. Several police vehicles were at the scene.

Another video of the same scene taken from a passing car was also posted on TikTok.

Pedestrians are not allowed on expressways.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident along TPE towards Seletar Expressway at 9pm.

The 61-year-old pedestrian was unconscious when taken to the hospital, while the 52-year-old motorcyclist was conscious.

Police investigations are ongoing.
