Commuters on SBS Transit bus service 64 were asked to wait due to a "system error" on Sept 16.

The bus had stopped at a Sims Place bus stop.

One commuter, Stomper Pang Kiat, was on his way to visit his wife at St Andrew's Nursing Home at Aljunied Walk after work.

He recounted: "The bus captain said, 'System error. Uncle, aunty, sorry lah, wait another few minutes, please.'

"The nursing home was just two bus stops away"

The Stomper said passengers were asked to alight.

He also shared photos of the bus, which show the electronic display on the front of the bus without the bus service number.

One photo shows the display with the words "off service" while another photo shows the service number 64 displayed.

In response to a Stomp query, a SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said: "On Sept 16 at about 3:30pm, the bus captain of a service 64 bus stopped his bus briefly at a bus stop to rectify an issue with the bus' electronic display sign.

"Less than a minute later, the bus captain resumed his journey.

"There was no suspension of service based on our CCTV footage."
