Workers uncover grisly find in 10th-floor Geylang flat while on gondola to paint wall
Painters were carrying out works on a gondola at Block 63 Sims Place when they looked into a 10th-floor unit and made a grisly discovery.
A 71-year-old man had died in his flat.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance on March 28, at around 2.10pm.
The elderly man was found lying motionless in a residential unit and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
A 27-year-old worker told Shin Min Daily News that he was painting the external facade of the HDB block when he smelled something strange from the unit.
He immediately notified his supervisor and called the police.

Another painter claimed that he saw bones on a bed in the flat, with a shirt and a pair of pants nearby.
According to neighbours, the deceased lived alone, rarely interacted with others and never had visitors.
Police investigations are ongoing.
