A Nissan Qashqai was spotted travelling behind a lorry and flashing a blue beacon light in Tuas.

Stomper Lee alerted Stomp to a video of the incident which was posted on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page.

The post said the incident was captured on Jan 20 at about 7.36pm.

In the video, the car is seen going in and out of the second lane, behind the lorry.

It then starts flashing a blue beacon light that appears to be inside the vehicle.

Netizens accused the driver of 'impersonating' a police car.

Some also criticised the driver's skills as the car was straddling two lanes and could not seem to keep straight.

Earlier this month, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) clamped down on 86 vehicles with illegal modifications such as decorative lights.

According to LTA's One Motoring website, decorative lamps can include LED lights on windscreen wipers, neon lights on the undercarriage or in car interiors, and flashing lights.

These lights 'may distract and disorient other road users'.

Anyone - including workshops - who illegally modifies or uses such vehicles may face fines of up to $5,000, imprisonment of up to three months, or both.

Repeat offenders face double the penalties.
