Netizens go gaga over wholesome interaction between man and toddler on train: 'So cute'

Netizens are going gaga over a TikTok video of a man showing something on his phone to a toddler and smiling as she gave him the side-eye on the MRT train.
Stomper Anonymous alerted Stomp to the 26-second video of the wholesome interaction posted on Oct 12 by TikTok user Ben Puah, who said it was to "promote racial and ethnic harmony in Singapore".
The TikToker commented on his own video: "Seeing the good in people is a positive trait that can reflect optimism, empathy, and a desire to connect with others."
But the Stomper noticed that the little girl in the video was sipping from a bottle and quipped: "Oops. No drinking on MRT."
However, many netizens found the unexpected connection between the man and the child adorable.
"So cute! You can see his pure joy from interacting with kiddo," said a commenter.
Another said: "He probably misses his own child back home."
Someone speculated he was showing her a Tom And Jerry cartoon on his phone.
One netizen commented: "Too cute both the strangers! Rarely will I find a parent allowing a child to mingle with a stranger. Kudos to parents as well as to the man."
But another recalled a less positive experience, recounting: "I have done the same before and got scolded by the parents. They said, 'Children do not deserve to get hypnotised by gadgets.'
"I was ashamed from that day till now."
The video has since garnered more than 45,000 views.
