M'sian BMW driving out of road shoulder nearly causes accident with truck, motorcycle on BKE
A BMW with Malaysian plates was caught on camera nearly caused an accident on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on the morning of New Year's Eve.
Stomper RoadUser shared dash cam video of the car driving out of the emergency lane and almost hitting a truck which swerved to avoid it and almost hit a motorcycle.
"Ridiculous!" exclaimed the Stomper. "This is not even a drop-off pick up point! This is the expressway road shoulder! You cannot park there."
The Stomper recounted: "On Dec 31 at about 6.10am, a Malaysian BMW ridiculously drove out from the expressway road shoulder without checking the traffic, nearly causing an accident.
"This reckless BMW driver also caused the cam car to apply the emergency brake.
"After driving out of the road shoulder, the BMW then proceeded at a slow speed, looking for another spot on the road shoulder to park.
"At this time, there was a bus behind the cam car. This is so dangerous. This part of the expressway has many heavy vehicles coming from Malaysia about to enter the BKE."
A number of motorcycles can also be seen in the emergency lane in the video.

The Stomper said that foreign vehicles entering Singapore would stop along the road shoulder every day.
Stopping on the shoulder of an expressway is an offence punishable with four demerit points and a composition fine of $150 for light vehicles and $200 for heavy vehicles.
Driving on the shoulder of is expressway is punishable with six demerit points and a composition fine of $200 for light vehicles and $250 for heavy vehicles.
