A motorcyclist was caught on camera skidding into a BMW car on the East Coast Parkway (ECP) on Aug 13 morning.

This happened after the motorcyclist tried to overtake a white Honda Vezel in the rightmost lane by squeezing between the car and the road divider.

Stomper M shared dashcam footage of the accident that took place on the expressway towards the city after the Tanjong Katong Road exit at about 8.20am.

"This bike was riding too close to the road divider, hit the divider and self skidded, causing accident with an orange BMW iX1," said the Stomper.

"Not sure if he was trying to avoid another vehicle?"

After tumbling onto the road, the motorcyclist quickly got back on his feet. A fellow motorcyclist stopped to check whether the rider was okay.

The BMW can be seen stopping next to the road divider ahead of them as the video ends.

The Stomper said he drove off after seeing the first motorcyclist picking up his fallen bike.

The video was also posted online by Roads.sg.

One Facebook user commented: "That was really a stupid move. Now injured plus bike damaged and have to pay for damages of two cars. Well done for the stupidity."

Stomp has contacted the police for more info.
