More than 13,000 counterfeit items worth over $490,000 seized in Geylang and Pioneer, 3 arrested

Two women and one man, aged between 30 and 36, were arrested for their suspected involvement in the online sale of counterfeit goods.

Between July 31 and Aug 2, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted raids at Sims Drive in Geylang and Sunview Road in Pioneer.

More than 13,000 items of purported trademark-infringing bottles of perfume, cosmetics, and household items with an estimated street value of more than $490,000 were seized.

In a separate case on Aug 7, CID conducted a raid at Admiralty Drive in Sembawang, where more than 270 purported trademark-infringing bags with an estimated street value of more than $40,000, were seized.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in the case.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of possession of goods with falsely applied trademarks for the purpose of trade carries a fine up to $100,000, an imprisonment term of up to five years, or both.
