Mercedes driver arrested for drink driving after going against traffic along Middle Road
A 40-year-old man was arrested for drink driving after going against traffic along Middle Road on Feb 2.
Stomper Fahmi said he saw a white Mercedes-Benz GLS going against the flow of traffic at about 2am.
He shared photos and a video with Stomp showing Traffic Police officers speaking to the driver.
In one picture, an officer appears to be conducting a breathalyser test.
"The man was drunk for sure and had an unsteady gait," said the Stomper, who added that the Mercedes-Benz driver allegedly kept touching an officer despite being warned.
A woman who was in the car reportedly exited the vehicle after the driver was arrested.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance on Feb 2 at about 1.35am.
"A car allegedly drove against traffic along Middle Road towards Prinsep Street," a police spokesperson said.
"A 40-year-old male car driver was arrested for drink driving."
No injuries were reported and police investigations are ongoing.
