Men abseil down drain to rescue kitten during heavy downpour at Bedok Reservoir
A couple of good Samaritans rescued a kitten from drowning in a drain at Bedok Reservoir.
A Stomper alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that was posted on TikTok.
TikTok user @zulawab said in his video that he was about to go home when he spotted the kitten stranded in the drain.
He says in Malay: "The cat is inside the drain, how? Today it's raining, how ah? The water is rising."
Help arrived later that evening after two men were seen abseiling down the side of the drain to retrieve the kitten.
The TikToker mentioned that the two men are from Savage Access Pte Ltd and that they travelled down from Sungei Kadut to help.
He also included footage of the men smiling despite being drenched by the rain and thanked them repeatedly for their assistance.
He added that National Parks Board (NParks) contractor staff were at the scene to retrieve the cat.
