Marine Terrace neighbours at war: Court orders one to pay other $345 and 'not physically' attack his mum
The conflict has been raging for years.
Recently, two warring neighbours who live next to each other at Block 53 Marine Terrace finally went to court.
It resulted in one of them, Madam Nurul Jaahan Yaazid, being ordered to pay the other, Mr Lim Jing Hao, $345 and "not physically or verbally" attack his mother.
But Stomper Poh, who is the mum, told Stomp that Madam Jaahan refused to pay the money despite the court order.
The animosity between the two households had earlier been reported by Shin Min Daily News in October 2023 after videos of a confrontation between the Stomper and Madam Jaahan went viral.
In one video, the Stomper can be seen holding a hammer in her flat facing Madam Jaahan holding a metal rod outside the gate.
The incident, which took place on Jan 13, 2023, started when the Stomper began hammering a nail in the wall in her flat to hang a photo of her son's graduation, according to Shin Min.
The banging frightened Madam Jaahan's two-week-old infant.
Madam Jaahan told the Chinese-language daily: "When I heard the noise, I went to talk to my neighbor. I saw her holding a hammer, so I went home to find something to defend myself."
The Stomper said: "They were shouting and yelling outside the door with a metal rod for about 20 minutes until the police showed up."

But there were already ill feelings between the neighbour even before the incident.
The Stomper told Shin Min that after Madam Jahan moved in more than a year earlier, there had been problems with noise, smoking in the corridor and other issues.
The Stomper claimed her neighbor broke a wooden board at her door and made noise when singing karaoke, watching TV and moving furniture at home.
Madam Jaahan also complained of noise made by her neighbour, claiming that the Stomper's door would "bang" almost every day and there would be the sound of knocking coming from the Stomper's flat.
Then came the incident on May 10, 2024, at about 8.40pm.
As the Stomper was leaving her flat, Madam Jaahan also opened her gate and came out to the corridor with her stroller.
Heading for the lift, the Stomper silently squeezed her way between the open gate and Madam Jaahan, who was squatting down to adjust her stroller.

Annoyed, Madam Jaahan can be heard saying in the CCTV video: "Cannot wait, is it?"
The Stomper ignored her and kept walking as Madam Jaahan shouted vulgarities.
After the Stomper had gone, Madam Jaaham vented her anger by knocking over the stroller and letting out a scream into the night. A child and a man later came out of her flat.
Madam Jaahan then marched furiously towards the CCTV camera recording the incident and turned it around.
She made a police report about the incident the next day.
In the report, Madam Jaahan said: "A female neighbour kicked the gate behind me and physically pushed me away.
"Despite seeing me outside handling the stroller, she could have chosen to take the lift from the opposite side but instead opted to harm me in order to pass by.
"Additionally, there have been numerous occasions where she has caused disturbances for us."
The CCTV video does not show the Stomper kicking the gate or pushing Madam Jaahan.
The Stomper posted on Facebook on Oct 11, 2025: "Feeling very unsafe, we took her to court where she showed her true colors.
"Lying to both the police and in her witness statement claiming that she was assaulted and harassed to justify her actions when videos show it isn't true."
The case was brought to court by the Stomper's son, Mr Lim.
In the July 21 court order issued by Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals, Madam Jaahan was instructed not to interfere with or touch Mr Lim's movable property at his residence.
She was ordered not to "cause excessive noise and vibration through loud music and karaoke" and not to "physically or verbally attack" Mr Lim or his mother at or just outside their flat.
Madam Jaahan was further ordered to pay Mr Lim $95 plus $250 as "disbursements" by Aug 21.
The Stomper wrote in her Facebook post: "With overwhelming evidence and ineffectual lies, she lost the case and still owes us damages even past the deadline.
"As an act of goodwill we offered her an extension but was instead greeted with them opening our door and intimidating us with vulgarities and violent behaviour."
The Stomper also shared videos of the May 2024 incident and an Aug 2025 confrontation over the money.
Commenting on one of the Stomper's posts, Madam Jaahan wrote: "Court order finish already. Don't get money then posting again."
The Stomper replied: "We will let court know you didn't pay, Don't happy first."
Madam Jaahan retorted in another comment: "Hahahaha. sorry, nothing to pay to you. You created a problem now no money then find problem again. Hahahah, problematic family.
"If no money, go out and find a job. Stop finding trouble. People all know about you and your story. Don't shame your own family lah.
"Haiyo, face to face, don't want talk. Keep on shouting to social media, want to act like you the victim. You the one who racist, then say all neighbours racist."

Madam Jaahan posted on her own Facebook page on Oct 12: "This crazy mum and son won't stop posting and keep on harassing me.
"Let her be lah. Let her drama spread around. Why? Because she wants me to confront her and make me triggered so that they can file against me in court and open a new court case.
"Sorry hor no time to entertain you and your mother. Help me share this post to let others know also. I focus on my family is better than entertaining this crazy family."
The Stomper's son, Mr Lim, told Stomp on Oct 13 that whether it's about the stress of having to live with a neighbor like Madam Jaahan or her refusing to pay as ordered by the court, his mother just wants to get her story out.
