Man makes off with $200 worth of toys by tilting and shaking claw machine -- 2 days in a row
A man was caught on camera tilting and shaking a claw machine in Joo Chiat to get toys out of it.
Stomper Jonathan, who owns the claw machine outside his friend's shop along Tembeling Road, said the incident occurred twice, on Dec 30 and Dec 31.
CCTV footage captured not only the man's behaviour, but also his motorcycle and licence plate.
The Stomper shared: "He was playing at the claw machine and when unable to catch a prize with his $1 coin, he repeatedly tilted, lifted and shook the machine once the claw had caught a toy, before collecting the toys that fell out."
First incident on Dec 30, at 8.22pm.
Second incident on Dec 31, at 10.15am.
Jonathan believes that it was the same man on both occasions.
Though the man had his face obscured each time, he appeared to be in the same black Crocs and similar arm sleeves, with a watch on his right wrist, in video footage of both incidents.
Jonathan told Stomp that the man took three toys the first time and one toy the following day, resulting in total losses of around $200.
He added: "We would like to attract customers to play and win honestly, but not resort to this kind of cheapskate acts, especially when it's coming from an adult. We do not condone such dishonest acts."
A police report has not been made, but Jonathan is considering doing so.
