# Man cradles woman as 2 PMDs lie on the ground near them in Yishun

A woman was seen lying in a man’s arms as two mobility devices lay on the ground near them along Yishun Lane on Sept 5.

Stomper Nick alerted Stomp to the incident, which happened near the Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home @ Riverwalk at about 11.55am.

Photos shared by the Stomper show a woman lying on the ground while a man sits beside her and appears to support her head.

Two two-wheeled devices that appear to be personal mobility devices (PMDs) can be seen lying nearby.

While Nick did not witness what happened, he claimed that he heard “a loud crash” and turned to see the pair “in somewhat of an entanglement” from his flat’s window.

## Woman taken to hospital

According to the Stomper, a motorist in a black car stopped to help.

“The guy in the black car came out and gave them an umbrella,” he said.

Nick said the woman remained on the ground until an ambulance arrived.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance along Yishun Lane at about 11.55am.

One person was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

## PMDs were stationary at traffic light when incident happened

In a message to Stomp, a person named V, who claimed to be part of the pair in the photos, clarified that they were not riding their PMDs during the incident.

Instead, she and her husband were stationary and waiting for the traffic light. There were two teenagers riding their bicycles and waiting there too.

According to V, she was resting her leg in front of the rear wheel of her PMD and had attempted to move it slightly forward when her sandal got caught on the wheel, causing her to trip.

As a result, she lost her balance and fell, injuring her left elbow in the process.

Her husband immediately attended to her and did not have time to park their PMDs properly, which was why the vehicles fell to the ground.

V emphasised: “I want to make it absolutely clear that there was no collision between our PMDs.”

She confirmed that an ambulance later arrived and conveyed her to the hospital.
