A man was spotted letting his dog walk around inside a coffee shop at Block 232 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, raising concerns about hygiene.

Stomper Jimmy, who witnessed the incident on April 10 at around 2.15pm, said no one stepped in to stop the man.

"He was wearing a white singlet and brought his dog into the coffee shop," said Jimmy.

"He let the dog walk freely around the place even though it's clearly stated that pets are not allowed inside coffee shops and markets."

"It's so unhygienic.

"Everyone just looked at the dog."

According to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), patrons are allowed to bring pets along for dine-in at Outdoor Refreshment Areas (ORAs).

ORAs are open areas outside the main structure of buildings or the food premises that are not enclosed, even if under shelter. They must be accessible without needing to go through the food premises, like the stalls.

Pets are still prohibited at all hawker centres and their outdoor dining areas as these are communal spaces, unlike the outdoor seating spaces of private food businesses.
