Man arrested after snatching handphone from taxi driver in Jurong West

A 43-year-old man was arrested for snatch theft after he allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a taxi driver along Jurong West Street 52.
The police received a report about the incident from the cabby on Monday (July 19), at around 5.30pm.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him on Tuesday.
The man will be charged in court on Thursday with snatch theft, which carries a jail term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and caning.
