Man allegedly stole from unlocked vehicles $100,000 worth of items including Rolex watch
A 55-year-old man was arrested for a series of theft from vehicles and fraudulent possession of property.
The Police were alerted to a series of cases of theft from vehicles at Temasek Boulevard, where Suntec City is located, between May 16 and Sept 9.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 19 September 2024.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly stolen several items from unlocked vehicles, with an estimated value amounting to $100,000.
The man was also found in possession of two supposedly stolen luxury watches, a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and a Rolex Daytona.
He was to be charged in court on Sept 21 for the offences of theft, which carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both; and fraudulent possession of property, which carries a fine not exceeding $3,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.

- Secure the windows and doors of your vehicle at all times.
- Do not leave valuables such as cashcards, laptops, handphones, briefcase or wallets in your vehicle.
- Install an anti-theft alarm system.
- Check your vicinity for suspicious characters before leaving. If you see any suspicious characters, do take note of their appearance, clothing, height, or any other distinctive physical features and inform the Police for assistance. Do not confront them.
