A man allegedly hit a beer promotor with money in his hand at a Jurong coffee shop on the night of May 24.

Stomper Sarah alerted Stomp to CCTV footage of the incident posted online the next day by BK Eating House.Sg.

The video shows a group of men sitting around a table at the BK Eating House coffee shop at Block 134 Jurong Gateway Road.

With her back to the camera, the beer promoter can be seen gesturing to a man wearing a red shirt seated at the table.

Seemingly amused at first, the man then stood up, took something out of his pants' pocket and hit the beer promoter with it.

After speaking angrily to her, he appeared to hit the woman again as the other men at the table stood up and held him back. One man led the red-shirt man away from the table.

The beer promoter can be seen storming away before the video ends.

The video also included a photo of a paramedic attending to the woman and a photo of the man in the red shirt.

The BK Eating House.Sg post said: "Last night, an unfortunate dispute occurred at one of our branches.

"It has come to our attention that the man involved is a coffee proprietor and the owner of a well-known juice wholesale business in Singapore.

"We believe that status or wealth should never be a justification for unacceptable behavior. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their background.

"While we are not at liberty to share the full details of the incident - out of consideration for those involved - we want to make one thing absolutely clear: we do not and will not tolerate violence against women under any circumstances."

The beer promoter told Shin Min Daily News that the red-shirt man said he would buy six bottles of beer if she drank four glasses of it, but after she did, he reneged on the deal.

"He said he didn't see me drink the last glass and was unwilling to keep his promise," said the woman, who added that the man continued to ask her to drink, upsetting her.

"I told him he was not trustworthy. He got so angry that he stood up and took out some money. Then he hit me in the face with the banknotes, said some very ugly and insulting things and put the money back in his pocket. Then he hit me in the face again."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at 10.10pm.

SCDF assessed a person for minor injuries, but she declined to be taken to the hospital.

When contacted by Stomp, the police confirmed that a report was lodged.
