Man, 63, arrested for splashing red paint on Choa Chu Kang flat in loanshark harassment case

A Choa Chu Kang Drive flat was vandalised on March 25.
The main gate of the unit was splashed with red paint with a debtor's note stuck on it.
Police were alerted at 2.05am and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of a 63-year-old suspect and arrested him the next day.
He is believed to be involved in other similar cases of loanshark harassment island-wide.
The man was to be charged in court with loanshark harassment on March 27.
For first-time offenders, the offence carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000 with an imprisonment term of up to five years and caning of up to six strokes.
