Maid allegedly gave boy 'very hard loud slap' at Kinex: Stomper hoping to alert his parents
A woman allegedly hit a young boy at Kinex mall so hard that Stomper Anonymous could hear the impact.
Anonymous said the incident occurred at Wan To Play Space, the mall's space-themed indoor playground, at around 6.50pm on Dec 28.
The Stomper identified the woman as a domestic helper and is hoping to alert the boy's parents by sharing the incident online.
Anonymous recounted: "I witnessed a little boy (wearing red) pushing his helper out of being playful or mischievous, but she quickly turned around and gave him a very hard loud slap at his neck/face (probably missed the face).
"I was super shocked to see it because it was very loud and that was her employer's child under her care. She also shouted, 'Why you push aunty!'
"I purposely said very loudly that I was shocked she hit the child, so that she would realise people were watching and stop her abuse.
"However, she continued to scold the child outside the play area, saying he pushed her and that she wanted to quit working for the family.
"The little boy did not retaliate. He couldn't, as he's a young child who is still in a pram and playing in an indoor playground.
"I wanted to confront her, but was also afraid she would hurt the child more after that. My children had also ran into the playground while the helper took the boy and left, so I couldn't hold on to her.
"I'm worried about how if she could do this in public, she might do worse behind closed doors. It was a very natural, quick and harsh reaction, which suggests it might not have been the first and only time she has hit him.
"I believe even if a child has done wrong, the helper should not hurt the child and she could report it to her employer instead. They are still small kids.
"This incident left me with a very heavy heart and I'm hoping the boy's parents can be alerted on this so that they can protect their child from the helper."
Anonymous said she did not manage to take a video of the incident as it happened too quickly, but shared photos of the woman with the boy.
"I have since reported this to the police so that they can check the CCTV camera and identify her," the Stomper added.
"I did not intend to report it to the police or inform the media initially, but was advised by other employers in a Facebook group to do so in order to find the parents effectively.
"Please help raise awareness on this. Helpers should not to hurt their employer's children no matter what and inform their employer instead if the children misbehave.
"Employers should also be reminded about the importance of checking in on loved ones who are under a helper's care."
