Louis Vuitton pocket organiser and bracelet worth $1,515 stolen from airport shop, Indian national arrested

A 25-year-old male Indian national was arrested for shop theft at Changi Airport on July 16.

The police were alerted to the case at a shop in the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 3 at about 1.41pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly taken a Louis Vuitton pocket organiser and a bracelet, worth a total of $1,515, from the store's display shelves and left without paying.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of CCTV footage, officers from Airport Police Division established the man's identity.

He was arrested in the transit area within an hour of the report, preventing him from departing Singapore.

The alleged stolen items were recovered from his possession.

The man will be charged in court on Aug 18 with theft in dwelling.

If convicted, he shall be punished with an imprisonment term up to seven years, a fine or both.
