Lorry in left turn-only lane drives straight through junction, nearly causes accident at Marina Boulevard
A lorry in a left turn-only lane failed to turn left at a junction, nearly causing an accident with another vehicle.
Stomper Good, who was the driver of the other vehicle, shared dash cam footage of the incident at the junction of Marina Boulevard and Sheares Avenue on June 12 just before 3pm.
The video shows the lorry travelling in the second leftmost lane of Marina Boulevard behind the Stomper's car, which was in the third lane.
Initially, the lane that the lorry was in allowed both left turns and driving straight through, but after passing the Bayfront Avenue junction, the lane became left turn-only.
Since the lorry intended to drive straight through, it could have moved to the Stomper's lane which allowed both left turns and driving straight through.
But instead, the lorry sped up to overtake the Stomper just as the Stomper was turning into Sheares Avenue at the junction.
"I turned on my turn signal to turn left, but the lorry Illegally drove straight ahead," said the Stomper.
"I almost had a car accident."
If the Stomper had driven a little faster, both vehicles would have collided.
