A 57-year-old man was taken to hospital after an accident involving the lorry he was driving and a car in Lavender on Aug 20.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp they were alerted to the hit-and-run accident at the junction of King George's Avenue and Lavender Street at 10.05pm.

The police said that upon their arrival, the car driver had left the scene, adding: "Efforts to trace the car driver are underway."

The lorry driver was unconscious when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Stomper Robert shared photos and a video of the accident site at around 10.30pm. A blue lorry and a silver car can be seen, both badly damaged.

The scene had drawn a large crowd of onlookers.

Robert said: "The front of the lorry was crumpled. The whole junction was blocked and there were people being taken to the ambulance."
