Residents behind a 'private garden' at Block 533 Bukit Panjang Ring Road had asked for two weeks to remove the unauthorised setup, but do not seem to have fully held up their end of the bargain.

Stomper Leonard previously shared that the setup, which comes with a signboard calling it 'Tingkat Village,' has been on the 15th floor since August 2023.

Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council told Stomp at that time that it had engaged with the residents involved to address the situation, adding: "They have appealed for a two-week period to remove the excessive items and unauthorised structures."

However, Leonard told Stomp that the setup is still there.

He shared photos taken on Feb 2 and Feb 18. While the clutter appears to have been reduced, potted plants and wooden furniture continue to occupy the corridor and lift lobby.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokeswoman for Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council said on Feb 21: "The residents involved have already cleared some items from the corridor, in response to previous requests.

"The town council will continue to engage the residents with the clearance of the corridor in accordance with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire safety guidelines.

"In addition, written notices have been formally issued to the affected units, urging them to fully cooperate with these safety measures."

The spokeswoman said the town council remains committed to ensuring that these safety standards are met and should further action be required, enforcement measures will be taken to ensure compliance with SCDF guidelines.

She added: "The town council will continue to monitor the situation closely."
