Temple manager Su Baozhang on Feb 18 said that the directors had met the three devotees involved, and they had agreed to publish an apology in a newspaper on Feb 23.

He shared that those involved in the talks included the temple chairman, the first vice chairman, the second vice general affairs officer, and the volunteer who was attacked.

The meeting lasted about 30 minutes and both parties agreed to the plan proposed by the temple.

Mr Su shared that the matter will be handled in a transparent manner, including the publication fee and the content inside.

"The volunteer who was hit also fully listened to the temple's opinion and agreed not to take any further action after the other party apologises."

To prevent similar incidents from recurring, the temple plans to hire two "burly" security guards to maintain order at the site next year.
