Illegal charging of e-bike at Hougang HDB block: Town council taking enforcement action against such cases
A Hougang resident spotted an e-bike that was plugged into an electrical socket at Block 327 Hougang Avenue 5 on May 2.
The Stomper shared photos he took at about 6pm that evening.
"I saw this illegal charging at a HDB void deck," he said.
"It was in front of lift C."
In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman from Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) said: "The town council has been taking enforcement action on illegal tapping of utilities from outlets in the common areas.
"There is signage in place to warn members of the public against doing so and enforcement measures have been stepped up.
"We will continue to monitor the situation closely."
