'Humanity is dead': Man rants after nobody offers seat to pregnant woman on train
Welcome to Stomping Ground - a space where Stompers share reflections, personal essays and social commentaries that spark conversation and insight.
A ride on the MRT left one man angry and disappointed with the world.
Stomper Dave had many thoughts after travelling on the MRT on May 28.
"Humanity is dead," he declared.
"While I was travelling on the MRT, I saw this selfish act! People were sitting in the priority seats, which are for people with disabilities, the injured, elderly and pregnant women.
"There was a pregnant lady right in front of them, and they all ignored her and continued to occupy the priority seats.
"The best part is they can still look at the pregnant women and act like they are sleeping."

Sharing his feelings about the incident, Dave said: "At that moment, all I can feel is, why are people so heartless? Where did humanity go?"
"Some of us don't want to voice out to them to avoid drama on the ride, but someone has to speak up about this. It is such a selfish act."
He expounded further: "Yes, it's not a crime to sit in the priority seats, but if you see someone who needs it more, then why is it so hard for you to just offer them the seat?"
Dave called for the attention of the authorities.
"The Land Transport Authority, SMRT and the Ministry of Transport have to really look into this matter and increase the number of seats. They spend millions on the MRT. How hard can it be to increase the number of priority seats?"
Should the Stomper have asked the sleeping passengers to simply offer their seats?
Be the change you want to see in the world, right?
