Two lucky Stompers in Geylang and Toa Payoh had hornbills drop by their homes recently.

Stomper Rajan shared photos of a lone hornbill on his condo balcony at Imperial Heights on Aug 7.

The sighting left him "very happy" as it was his first time spotting the bird.

Rajan said: "I felt overexcited and in awe as it's a rare species of bird. We definitely do not get to see this every day, if at all."

Stomper Helen had a similarly delightful encounter on the morning of Aug 5.

"The first time hornbills came to my estate was two years ago," recounted the Toa Payoh resident.

She shared a video from that time, showing a pair of hornbills along her corridor. One can be seen pecking at her potted plant's fruit.

"This time, I saw them again on my kitchen laundry rack," Helen added. "Huat ah!"
