Some Hougang residents are heartbroken over a cat they believe has been abandoned at Hougang ParkEdge at Upper Serangoon Road.

Stomper Priya shared with Stomp a video of the cat she and her neighbour noticed in the area near Block 473 about three weeks ago.

They observed that the cat has been loitering around some shrubbery.

"It's kind of like he is expecting his owner to return," said Priya.

Priya and her neighbour have been feeding the cat and even provided a box for it to take shelter in.

"I wish I could take him home but I can't as I have a dog and his is reserved and is also currently recovering from a luxating patella injury," she said.

"My neighbour already has a few cats she adopted and is unable to house him.

"I just feel very sorry for him and hope someone can give him shelter and take good care of him."

The cat's fur is mostly black and after doing some research, Priya believes it is a Bombay cat.

She has made an appointment with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Community Animal Clinic and shared that she and her neighbours will pay for the cat's medical expenses.

She added that her heart goes out to the cat because it seems to be waiting for its owner's return day or night, rain or shine.

"We just need someone who can give him a warm home," Priya said. " He is truly docile and tame. Let's find a home for this adorable boy."
