Hougang resident calls police on noisy neighbour, who gets arrested for using abusive language
Residents at an HDB block in Hougang have been enduring sleepless nights due to noise from one of their neighbours' units.
One of the residents shared with Stomp that he moved into the Upper Serangoon Road block in April 2024 and has known no peace since.
"They blast their music until 3am in the morning," said the Stomper who also shared clips in which loud music can be heard from behind a closed door.
"Neighbours are unable to sleep.
"No law has been enforced on them and nothing can be done, I need to take this to social media for help.
"In the day, they fight and physically abuse each other and they are also housing a massive dog."
However, matters escalated on Feb 13 when the Stomper called the police again after hearing loud music and shouting in the wee hours of the morning.
He shared footage of his neighbour being escorted by officers into a police car at the foot of the block. The man appears to be shirtless.
"This guy is very aggressive," said the Stomper
In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed the arrest with Stomp and said they received a call for assistance at about 3.50am.
"A 28-year-old man was arrested for using abusive language against a public servant," a police spokesperson said.
Police investigations are ongoing
