A driver was left frustrated after a passenger asked him to cancel a booking and later threatened to report him when he refused.

Stomper Angry Driver told Stomp that on Aug 17, the passenger had booked another ride on a different platform and requested him to cancel the current trip.

In a screenshot shared by the Stomper, he informs the passenger that he will not get a penalty charge if he cancels within three minutes.

"When I said I will not come, the passenger threatened to report me," said the driver.

In the screenshot, after the driver said he would pick him up, the passenger says: "Don't come, I don't want to have a problem with you."

"You called to say you will not come so you have to cancel."

The Stomper added that riders should remain professional when chatting with drivers.

"I would also like to emphasise to riders not to book multiple rides across the ride-hailing platforms and then cancel the most expensive ride," he said, sharing another screenshot showing several cancellations made by riders on the same day.

"This disrupts drivers' routes along the way."

He has since reported the matter to Grab.

In an email reply seen by Stomp, Grab apologised for the incident and said the passenger had been issued a strike.

The company said it values the comfort and safety of drivers, and assured that measures are in place to prevent such incidents.
