68-year-old Korean tourist drowns while snorkelling in Malaysia

A Korean tourist who went snorkelling at Sapi Island here has been found dead.

Jung Myun Gok, 68, was found unconscious by his friend, who alerted a lifeguard in the 11.30am incident yesterday.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra said the lifeguard tried giving Jung cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) assistance but to no avail.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There were also no signs of injury on Jung's body. He wore a life vest while snorkelling.
