Firefighters force entry into burning Bukit Purmei flat, rescue 3

A fire broke out at Block 108 Bukit Purmei Road in the early hours of Aug 21 and three people were taken to hospital.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a social media post that it was alerted to the fire at about 2.30am.
Firefighters conducted forcible entry into the 12-storey flat and extinguished the fire in the living room with a water jet.
Three people were rescued from two bedrooms. They were assessed for smoke inhalation and were conscious when taken to Singapore General Hospital.
About 50 people from the block were evacuated by the police and SCDF as a precautionary measure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
