Fire breaks out in Geylang condo, about 60 people evacuated
About 60 people were evacuated after a fire broke out at Sims Meadows condominium in Geylang on the night of May 9.
Stomper Len shared videos of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police vehicles at the scene as well as people gathered around a nearby shop selling durians.
In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at 8 Lorong 33 Geylang at about 11:25pm.
About 60 people evacuated before SCDF arrived.
The fire, which involved contents of a service yard in a unit on the sixth floor, was extinguished using a water jet.
There were no reported injuries, added SCDF.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
