Fire breaks out in Geylang Road shophouse involving kitchen exhaust ducting
A fire broke out at 604 Geylang Road on the morning of March 16.
Stomper Simon shared videos and photos of a number of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) vehicles at the corner of Geylang Road and Lorong 36 Geylang as smoke rose from one of the shophouses.
Another video was also posted online.
In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said it was alerted at about 9.10am.
The fire, which involved the kitchen exhaust ducting in the unit, was extinguished using a water jet.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
SCDF said it would like to remind the public, especially stall holders, on the prevention of kitchen exhaust ducting fires with the following fire safety tips as depicted in the infographic.
