A Fernvale resident is appealing for basic courtesy after a man was caught plucking leaves from his pomegranate plant.

Stomper PG shared doorbell camera footage of the incident, which occurred on July 20 at at about 6.15pm.

"My plant is already going botak (bald in Malay)," the Stomper said. "I understand the need to use the plant to wash your face after a funeral as part of Chinese culture.

"Have the decency to ask and not act like a sneaky thief."

In the video, the man is seen plucking leaves from the plant before running away.

PG suspects this was not the first time the man had helped himself to the plant.

While he has not filed a police report, he hopes others will be reminded to respect their neighbours' property.
