Explosion heard as large pile of rubbish catches fire at Woodlands block: 'So scary!'
A fire involving a pile of discarded items broke out at Block 616 Woodlands Avenue 4 on the morning of March 4.
Stomper Grace alerted Stomp to a TikTok video of the incident posted by @jolyanncorsega.
The video shows flames engulfing the rubbish as thick smoke billows into the air.
A Red Rhino and police car are at the scene.
The woman recording is heard saying 'so scary' a few times before an explosion is suddenly heard, prompting her to express her fear once again.
In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at about 10.50am.
"The fire involved discarded items at the loading bay of the block," an SCDF spokesperson said.
SCDF extinguished the fire using a water jet.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
