E-bike rider zips down road 'like a motorcycle', alarming Stomper in Toa Payoh
An e-bike rider was seen zipping alongside traffic in Toa Payoh, startling a motorist who said the rider was going too fast for comfort.
Stomper Mr Tan recounted the incident, which occurred on May 5 at about 4.40pm.
He was driving along Toa Payoh Lorong 2 towards Balestier Road when he noticed the e-bike travelling next to vehicles.
"Like a motorcycle," said Mr Tan, who shared a video of the rider in action.
"I feel the rider was going too fast. Speeding is dangerous."
In the video, the e-bike appears to be moving swiftly alongside cars.
While e-bikes, also known as power-assisted bicycles (PABs), are allowed on roads in Singapore, riders must adhere to a speed limit of 25kmh and wear helmets.
Under the Active Mobility Act, PABs must also be registered and bear a number plate.
Mr Tan hopes the rider will be more cautious for his own safety and that of others.
