Drunken teen in Rochor among 28 people arrested in pubs, bars and KTV lounges islandwide
A total of 28 people were arrested for various offences in pubs, bars and KTV lounges islandwide following multi-agency enforcement operations from Sept 11 to 19.
Over the course of one week, nine operations were conducted by all seven Police Land Divisions and Criminal Investigation Department, supported by officers from the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
A total of 150 officers from the Singapore Police Force and HSA were deployed to conduct checks on more than 780 persons across 101 public entertainment outlets.
Sixteen people, aged between 21 to 50, were caught for vape-related offences.
Another seven men and five women were also arrested for other offences.
One of them was a 22-year-old man who was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty and for using abusive words towards a public servant.
A 16-year-old teenager was also arrested near Rochor for using a forged electronic record and for drunkenness in a public place.
A 40-year-old man was also arrested at a public entertainment outlet at Rochor for suspected drug-related offences.
Four men, aged between 24 and 44, were arrested at a public entertainment outlet at Rochor for being suspected members of unlawful societies.
One man and four women, aged between 22 to 30, were arrested at public entertainment outlets in Telok Ayer and Orchard for working without a valid work pass.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Leon Chan, who is Director of Operations Department, said: "The police will continue to work with HSA and other law enforcement agencies for joint enforcement operations at public entertainment outlets to enforce the whole-of-government's zero-tolerance approach to vaping."
