Driver at Woodlands Checkpoint has nothing to declare, but vapes found in baby stroller in car boot
A Singaporean driver at Woodlands Checkpoint said he had nothing to declare, but e-vaporisers were found in his car.
Search & Examination officers of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) had profiled the Singapore-registered vehicle for enhanced checks on Sept 9.
When asked if he had anything to declare, the driver replied no, said ICA in a social media post on Sept 12.
During the course of thorough checks, officers uncovered two vapes hidden in the pocket compartment of a baby stroller in the boot of the car.
A third vape was found in the driver's bag.
He was issued a composition fine of $700.
Vape users under 18 face a fine of $500 while adults can be fined $700.
Second-time offenders have to attend a rehabilitation programme for three months.
Subsequent offenders face prosecution and a maximum fine of $2,000.
