A little girl was seen going on a 'joyride' in a car as a passenger in the front seat, sparking the concern of an onlooker.

Stomper Ong shared a video of the incident that he witnessed at Block 436C Fernvale Road on April 27, at around 12.42pm.

In the video, a girl - who appears to be in school attire - can be seen standing up in the front passenger seat with her body through the car roof.

One said: "I saw a grandfather taking his granddaughter on a joy ride. She was not secured and did not have a seat belt on while the vehicle was on the move.

"I don't feel that this is the right thing to do as it may endanger the life of the little girl."

Under the Road Traffic Act, all drivers and passengers above 1.35 metres tall are required to wear a seat belt in a motor vehicle unless medically exempted. Passengers who are below the height of 1.35m must be secured with an appropriate restraint, booster seat or adjustable seatbelt.
