Disgusted by pigeons and cleaners, diner says Seah Im Food Centre worse than Third World countries
A diner says he is left disgusted every time he visits Seah Im Food Centre because of the pigeons dining alongside him.
Stomper John said control measures such as bird netting have failed to keep the birds out as they can simply access the hawker centre the same way humans do.
He shared photos of birds feeding on leftover food at the tray station and on tables.

John said: "I find it disgusting whenever I have my food here.
"The food centre has been covered with netting to prevent pigeons from entering. Unfortunately, this control measure failed as openings are still required for people to access and pigeons can enter from these openings.
"They should have an enclosed and centralised area for the tray return station.
"Speaking of food trays which pigeons feed from, I have noticed that the cleaners just wipe the trays with a rag and stack them for reuse."

Jon said he reported the matter to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), who referred him to the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).
SLA told John that it had escalated the matter to the hawker centre's managing agent.

John told Stomp: "I have never seen places like these even when I am in Third World countries such as Vietnam or Cambodia.
"I'd rather pay the same price to buy a value set meal at McDonald's or Burger King at VivoCity than pay the same price eating at unhygienic food centres.
"Food prices in Singapore keep going up, but the quality of living is getting worse."
