Cyclists riding on pedestrian walkway outside Plantation Plaza pose safety risks to public: Stomper
The signs are there.
They say: "No riding of bicycles, scooter and e-bikes in common areas. This is a pedestrian path."
But personal mobility aids are allowed on the walkway outside Plantation Plaza known as Retail Street in Tengah.

Cyclists are required to dismount and push their bicycles for the safety of others, according to the signs put up by the Plantation Plaza management.
Yet Stomper Thomson shared photos of people riding their bikes on the path on multiple occasions.

He also posted videos of cyclists sharing the walkway with pedestrians online.
"We really need to a proper cycling path to avoid accidents and allow the public to enjoy shopping without fear," said the Stomper.
Actually, there is a designated shared cycling path nearby, but cyclists still use Retail Street for convenience.

"The original planning of Plantation Farmway overlooked users' cycling pattern," said the Stomper.
"The Retail Street pavement needs a secondary cycling path to support the amenities and cycling experience."
Security officers have been deployed and CCTV has been installed, but the Stomper said: "The current solution by HDB seems too weak and our neighbours are still facing risks while walking along Retail Street.
"Tengah is not done building and we hope our Prime Minister will help improve the cycling experience."
