Cyclist crossing road against red light hit by car at Victoria Street, dies in hospital

A cyclist crossing the road against a red light at the junction of Victoria Street and Jalan Sultan was hit by a car and died in hospital.
A video of the June 19 accident posted online shows the car ploughing into the cyclist.
Another video shows the cyclist lying on the road as the driver attended to him while making a phone call.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at about 6.30am.
The 41-year-old male cyclist was unconscious when taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The 44-year-old male car driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
