Couple's quarrel turns violent outside Tengah mall: 'There was choking, hair-pulling and slapping'
The police were called after a quarrel between a couple outside a Tengah mall turned violent on March 1 evening.
A Stomper shared videos of the quarrel on the bridge linking Plantation Plaza and Tengah Community Club between 7.30pm and 8pm.
She described it as "domestic violence out in public".
The Stomper recounted: "We were just walking home after dinner when we noticed a couple quarrelling at the bridge.
"Then the guy started to be violent. There were choking, pulling of hair and slapping. We were afraid the women might be pushed off the bridge so we called the police and waited at the scene.
"A few passers-by walked past them but it didn't stop the guy from continuing his actions.
"The guy spotted us and threatened to call the police, but he saw us videoing and fled the scene. When the police arrive, they were already gone."
One video shows the couple at Plantation Plaza walking away.
Stomp confirmed that the police were called and were at the scene.
