A couple is appealing for help in a search for their blind senior Maltese terrier called Ellie, that went missing from Block 101A Toa Payoh Lorong 2 on June 17.

Stomper Dee told Stomp that Ellie is 16 years old and weighs about 2.5kg.

She is offering a $500 cash reward for anyone who finds and returns the dog.

Her community has come together to create the Telegram channel @searchforelliepls to aid in the search.

Dee told Stomp: "The CCTV footage from the police on the lift landings, stairwells and public areas of the Housing Board neighbourhood where we live would be helpful, but the police say they can't help us because a lost pet is not a crime.

"Our MP also appealed to the police, but they said no."

Dee posted an update in the Telegram channel on June 23 at 10.43am: "Finally, an update from the town council about CCTV footage from the lift - just received from the vendor. Fingers crossed that there are some clues."
