Contractor warned after Sims Place resident calls out safety issues at work site beside playground
A contractor was issued a warning after a resident highlighted the safety issue at a work site near Block 63 Sims Place.
Stomper Victor, who lives nearby, said the area was not properly barricaded.
"It was very dangerous and caused inconvenience," he said.
"As the only proper walkway in the area is blocked without proper signage."
He shared photos showing construction taking place next to a playground.

In one photo, a site-dumper vehicle can be seen behind a pile of metal poles on the ground, cordoned off by just one white barricade and an orange safety net.
In others, a blue scissor lift can be seen stationed outside the temporary construction wall.

"It would be sad if an accident were to happen. It would be a clear case of human negligence," Victor said.
"It's better to be safe than sorry."
In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Jalan Besar Town Council said it has issued a warning to the contractor involved, and the necessary safety measures have since been put in place.
"We thank the Stomper for the feedback and would like to reassure residents that we will continue to monitor the contractor's performance closely," added the spokesperson.
