A resident is upset that equipment at a fitness corner in Choa Chu Kang remained damaged for months despite his feedback.

Stomper HH also took issue with the feedback process and response.

He shared a photo of a dislodged rubber seat near Block 608 Choa Chu Kang Street 62 and said: "The damaged seat is at times left on the floor, but it looks okay when someone puts it back.

"Worst of all, repeated feedback through the LifeSG app does not seem to be fruitful for action to be taken, as they keep having the months signed off on inspections.

"Are we not keen on maintenance and are we waiting for a project to be called in before all the equipment can be replaced?

"Shouldn't LifeSG be tracking all feedback to see that proper action has been taken by the related agency? Instead, they just reply that the matter is closed without carrying out the words in their reply, followed by asking if the response is good."

Frustrated, HH contacted Stomp. He said on Sept 4: "I noticed the damage in April, but waited to send feedback via LifeSG in June after noticing that they keep signing on the signboard for their quarterly inspection without taking any action.

"If the excuse is that there is no spare part, why keep having a different design without spares? Shouldn't the equipment be cordoned off or removed for safety reasons?"

In response to a Stomp query, a Marsiling-Yew Tee Town Council spokesperson said its maintenance team was alerted to the feedback in June this year.

"We conduct regular inspections of our facilities; however, equipment damage can occasionally occur in between scheduled inspection cycles," the spokesperson explained.

"Upon receiving the feedback, replacement materials were specially ordered which cater to different equipment requirements and designs across the fitness corners."

The equipment has since been repaired, the spokesperson told Stomp on Sept 11.

The spokesperson added: "We thank our residents for their patience and understanding, and remain committed to maintaining the safety and management of all our shared facilities."
