A Certis auxiliary police officer was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist while attending to an unrelated incident at Tuas Checkpoint on Jan 16.

Stomper Lau Lau alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that was posted on Facebook.

In the clip, the officer is seen lying on the road while others assist a motorcyclist lying next to his fallen vehicle.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 9.10am.

"A 27-year-old female auxiliary police officer and a 34-year-old male motorcyclist were conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesperson said.

A Certis spokesperson told Stomp that the accident happened while the officer was attending to an unrelated incident at the checkpoint.

"Both the officer and the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries," the spokesperson said.

"Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and conveyed both individuals to the hospital for further treatment."

Certis said the officer was discharged later on the same day and is currently on medical leave.

"We are rendering support where necessary to our officer to aid her speedy recovery."
