Causeway Link passengers transferred to 'rescue bus' after their vehicle caught fire in Jurong

A Causeway Link bus with passengers caught fire at Jurong Town Hall Road on April 12 evening.

Causeway Link is a Malaysian transport company that provides cross-border bus services between Singapore and Malaysia.

Stomper Grace alerted Stomp to a video of the burning vehicle on TikTok.

Other videos of the fire were also posted online.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the fire at about 9.45pm.

The fire, which involved the engine compartment of the bus, was extinguished using one hosereel.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

When contacted by Stomp, a spokesperson for Causeway Link said the company was aware of the incident.

"We would like to assure the public that despite the unfortunate bus fire, no injuries were reported among the passengers or members of the public," said the spokesperson.

"All affected passengers were promptly assisted and safely transferred to a rescue bus. The cause of the fire is currently under thorough investigation by our internal safety team.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the public for their understanding and concern during this time.

"The safety and well-being of our passengers remain our top priority, and we are committed to upholding the highest standards in all our services.
